MARCH - What a month for Motherwell
Just to say what an amazing month March turned out to be for the MotherWell team. Crewe Womens Day was brilliant, a great effort by all the organisations in Crewe. Homestart, Body Positive, Creative Action Team to name but a few were there to show case the great work that they do. A huge thanks to Crewe Town Council and Cheshire East for supporting us with the day.
At Crewe Womens Day we officially opened our Post natal Group and we had the honour of Elaine Hanzak opening the group. Elaine suffered Post Natal Depression many years ago and has since campaigned for better support in local areas for mums. Elaine also has written 2 books “Eyes without Sparkle” and “Another Twinkle in the eye” which describes journey through PND. We have purchased many copies of these books are available to lend them out with a deposit of £5 per book. Please contact us of you would like to read the books. Don’t forget to follow our facebook page MUM Postnatal Support South Cheshire for support and information on PND.
A week after Crewe Womens Day was the official opening of our “mums the word ” exhibition at Pickmere Court in Crewe. John Dwyer Cheshire Crime Commissioner came to visit the exhibition as it was the funding that John gave to Crewe Central , that made the exhibition possible.
The “mums the word” exhibition was an intergenerational project to get all generations at researching and piecing together information on the history of Crewe as well as looking at the changing roles of Women in the Crewe area. The project has taken us all by surprise due to how popular it has been. In total we have engaged with 76 individuals within 6 different agencies which is truly amazing. We are now looking for sponsorship to keep this great project going.
It really has been a great month and I personally want to say a great big thank you to the Motherwell team .
